Service personnel and their families have an independent route to raise serious welfare concerns affecting Service life. The Armed Forces Commissioner also helps Service personnel access the Service Complaints system and independently oversees how complaints are handle.

Financial and non-financial recognition is available for veterans and former service personnel affected by the Armed Forces LGBT Ban between 1967 and 2000.

If someone you know may have been affected, please help them find out what recognition and support is available before applications close on 12 December 2026.

The Armed Forces Continuous Attitude Survey 2027 is now open - this takes place each year and invites a random sample of Regular serving personnel to share their views and experiences about Service life.
