Are you satisfied with your Armed Forces reward package?
Defence launches a new ‘Offer survey’ – a chance for Regular serving personnel to influence their Armed Forces reward package.
Pay? Accommodation? Leave? What parts of the Armed Force’s reward package matter most to you? Help Defence’s policy makers to better meet your needs.
All feedback is confidential and will not be seen by your Chain of Command.
Are you getting what you need from your reward package?
For the first time, Regular personnel can tell Defence what you really think about your Armed Forces Offer, and the range of benefits, allowances, opportunities and support, that come with it.
Whatever your rank or profession is, it’s important to hear from you.
Your feedback will help Defence’s senior leaders and policy makers to prioritise and deliver targeted and efficient improvements to Your Offer.
These improvements will be informed by what you care about most, and where extra support is needed.
Defence to hold this survey annually, which will help to monitor trends and assess the impact of changes to Your Offer over time.
Why has Defence started this survey?
Armed Forces personnel make an extraordinary contribution to ensure the UK is secure at home and strong abroad. It is only right that Defence recognises your Service, and in doing so, helps you to navigate – and thrive – at work, home, and in life.
A thriving workforce means a Stronger Defence to protect the nation’s families, interests and allies. To recruit – and keep – a talented and skilled workforce, Your Offer is designed to recognise the unique nature of military life, and that your professional and personal needs will change over time.
Make sure your voice is at the heart of changes that affect you. Tell Defence which parts of the Offer you value the most, and how satisfied you are with them.
How do I take part?
Take the survey by 2359 UKT on Friday the 19th of December 2025 – you can use a MODNET or personal device. All you need is a Defence Gateway account and 30 minutes.
Your feedback will be treated in confidence and will not be seen by your Chain of Command.
How is the Offer survey different to AFCAS?
Some of you may be thinking that this sounds a lot like the Armed Forces Continuous Attitude Survey (AFCAS). The Offer survey is quite different…
Regular personnel should take the Offer survey. Those invited to take AFCAS should complete that too.
What's the difference?
Offer survey
- Closes on the 19th of December 2025.
- Asks you to rate how important specific parts of Your Offer is to you, and how satisfied you are with them.
- Your opportunity to directly influence the future of your reward package.
- All Regular personnel can take part.
AFCAS
- Closes on the 2nd of February 2026.
- Asks for your views on a range of topics to do with daily aspects of Service life.
- Your opportunity to inform Armed Forces policies and initiatives on living and working conditions.
- Service personnel are randomly invited to take part, as part of a representative sample.
Together, these surveys give senior leaders and policy makers the evidence they need to improve Service life for you.
Want to know more about the Offer survey?
For the first time, Defence is launching a survey to understand how all Regular Service personnel feel about specific parts of the Armed Force’s reward package, ‘Your Offer’.
Survey results will help Defence’s senior leaders and policy teams to make informed and efficient improvements to Your Offer. All responses will be treated confidentially and will not be seen by Chains of Command.
All Regular Service personnel – across all professions, ranks and backgrounds – are encouraged to complete the survey.
Your voice matters – whether you are new to the Armed Forces, have been here a while, or are about to leave.
Email and App invites will be sent to those who have recorded their email address on JPA.
The survey opens on Monday the 10th of November 2025 and will close at 2359 UKT on Friday the 19th of December 2025.
This means you have 3 weeks to complete the survey.
To complete the survey:
- Follow this link
- Use a personal or MODNET device
- You will need a Defence Gateway account to access the survey
Your responses will be treated in confidence and will not be seen by your Chain of Command.
This survey will take about 30 minutes to complete. You can save your progress and return to complete the survey in your own time.
You need a Defence Gateway account to access the survey. This means that basic demographic data will be captured and is therefore not anonymous.
The information provided in this survey is confidential. Chains of Command will not see individual answers.
Defence Gateway accounts are needed to access the survey to ensure that only serving personnel can complete the survey.
Defence Gateway also enables us to collect basic demographic data from JPA – such as your profession age, gender, rank, length of Service and relationship status – as part of the survey. This will enable greater understanding of any broader patterns that may need addressing for specific groups.
Your feedback will be treated in confidence. Chains of Command will not see individual answers.

You will be asked to rate how satisfied you are with various parts of the Offer, and how important they are to you. Areas include pay, accommodation and leave. You will also be asked about your intent to remain in Service, how much you value the unique nature of the Armed Forces, and what you feel is missing from the Offer.
There will be free text options, so you can expand on your answers.
Please answer the questions based on how you personally feel about Your Offer, and what parts of the Offer are relevant to you right now.
We recognise that views will change over time, as personal and career circumstances develop. This will be a regular survey, so please share your views on an ongoing basis.
Feedback from the Offer survey will provide critical evidence to inform effective changes to Your Offer, helping Defence to better meet your personal and career needs. The annual survey will also improve understanding of how needs change over time, helping Defence to monitor the impact of recent changes to the Offer and identify parts of the Offer that are consistently valued.
Absolutely – the survey covers a broad spectrum of areas within the Offer. You may discover parts of the Offer you aren’t aware of and could benefit from.
Find out about your Offer’s wide range of benefits, allowances, opportunities and support on the MOD intranet (defnet, Defence Connect) and Discover My Benefits.
The aim of the survey is to understand the value and satisfaction of various parts of the Offer among serving personnel. This insight will help to prioritise and enhance parts of the Offer that are highly valued but least satisfactory. The aim is to tailor the Offer to incentivise, support and better meet the needs of our people.
Proposed changes to your Offer will be informed by the Offer survey, among other sources and surveys, and undergo rigorous assessments from Defence’s senior leaders and policy teams.
We intend to hold this survey on an annual basis. This will enable us to build a clearer and more accurate picture of how our people view the Offer over time and inform data-driven improvements.
