This summary of the full Agreement covers the main terms and conditions under which BFBS supplies BFBS TV and Radio services and receiving equipment to entitled personnel. Failure to comply with the terms of this Agreement is a breach of Standing Orders and may result in prosecution under by civil or military law.
1. BFBS has provided you with a Viewing Card & CAM Module (hereinafter referred to as the “Equipment”).
2. The Equipment is loaned to you solely for personal use by you and your dependants and only at the registered address. It belongs to BFBS and must be returned promptly when requested, at the end of a tour, posting or on march-out. It must not be disposed of, sold, lent, hired, given to any third party or taken with you. If you do not return the equipment when required to, you will be charged up to £250 which may be recovered through military or civil legal process or deducted from your salary, and may result in a charge or conviction on your military record.
3. You are responsible for taking good care of the Equipment and must report any fault, damage, loss or operational problem promptly to BFBS, who at its sole discretion may replace or repair faulty equipment or levy a charge on you for any wilful damage or loss.
4. The BFBS Viewing Card and CAM enable you to watch BFBS encrypted channels. These are locked together electronically and are not to be swapped between other satellite receivers. The Viewing Card and CAM must remain in your Set-Top Box at all times and the Equipment connected to a mains supply and satellite dish so it can receive updates from time to time. Viewing Cards are revalidated from time to time. 5. You must not give, sell or lend your Viewing Card and/or CAM to anyone else, tamper with it or allow it to be used for unauthorized viewing. If you do, we will invalidate it, you and your family will not be allowed a replacement and you are likely to be prosecuted. You may also be held liable for any losses claimed by our content suppliers and rights holders that could be substantial. This is to protect programme rights agreements and to ensure armed forces information sent over the system is not compromised. BFBS will prosecute any persistent or deliberate breach of this condition using the full force of the relevant law enforcement agencies including the Military Police and SIB.
6. If your Viewing Card or any other item of Equipment is lost, stolen or damaged you must tell BFBS immediately who will replace faulty cards and others at its discretion. If your Viewing Card or CAM is stolen you must immediately report it to the local Police and obtain a crime number (replacements will not be issued without this).
7. If you leave the Services or are due to be transferred to another country or location, you must notify BFBS in advance. You will normally be required to return all Equipment. Do not take it with you. If posted to another country, you will normally be provided with new Equipment at your new address.
