Free Fear of Flying course for Service Personnel

Free Fear of Flying Course

A leading UK-based psychologist is offering Forces personnel a Fear of Flying course free of charge.

Professor Robert Bor and his team at London’s Royal Free Hospital have developed a course to help the estimated 30 per cent of Britain’s adults who suffer from the phobia. He told Soldier magazine: “You would be surprised at the amount of people who seek treatment. A fear of flying can develop after a bad experience on an aircraft or after a traumatic event”. The substantial amount of time troops can spend on all types of aircraft could explain why some develop an anxiety about flying, he added.

The treatment offered by Bor and his team takes place at the Royal Free and is tailored to the individual’s needs. There is no cost if you are a member of UK Armed Forces. For further details email Robert.Bor@royalfree.nhs.uk

Professor Robert Bor is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities in aviation psychology and hold a pilots licence. He is also a consultant to British Airways and an Honorary Civilian Consultant to the RAF in Aviation Psychology.
