SSAFA Forces Help offers a Family Escort Service to service families who need help with their travel arrangements in the UK.

Volunteers meet families who are travelling to and from the UK, as well as assisting a parent who has had to make a journey with children without the use of a car. In some cases SSAFA may even be able to provide transport for the family.

Founded five year’s ago, the Forces Children’s Trust (FCT) provides support to children whose father or mother has died, or has been seriously injured, while serving as a member of HM Armed Forces.

Among its many areas of assistance, the Trust regularly organises educational and social events where children can meet others in similar circumstances.  This support has consisted of theatre trips, a surprise visit to Lapland and providing a group of bereaved families a much-needed break in Portugal.  The FCT recognises that each child is special and unique, so if a child requires help not provided directly by the Trust, such as professional psychological help, then it can assist financially where appropriate.
