What BFBS Television channels will I get?

What sort of programmes are on the channels?
BFBS1 has a bit of everything, from chat shows to soaps, dramas to news, documentaries to sport. We carry the BBC News channel overnight.
BFBS2 is a 6-hour block of programmes with shows like CSI and the Simpsons, sci-fi and comedy.
BFBS3 KIDS does exactly what it says on the tin, and this is where you'll find BFBS TV's own 'Room 785' show with birthdays and competitions for Forces' kids worldwide.
BFBS4 is our movie channel. Two movies a day, at 7pm and 9pm, with more on Saturdays.
Then there are our carriage channels - direct live relays of two Sky Sports channels, a music channel and Sky News.

In the next 2 or 3 months, we'll be adding factual entertainment and documentaries on BFBS3 in the evenings.
What do I need to do to get BFBS TV?
Depending on where you live in BFG, you may have DTH or be on a cable system. You will be issued with the correct set-top box - either DTH or cable- when you arrive. If on a cable system, you do not need a viewing card. If on a DTH system, you need to go to your nearest SSVC shop for your card. Details of your nearest shop can be found here
I'm getting a message that my viewing card is due to expire - what do I do?
You need to re-activate your card. Either call into your local SSVC shop or call the UK helpline during UK office hours 00 44 (0)1494 878100 or mil (9) 529 82100.

Mis-use of viewing cards
You must not lend, give or sell your card to anyone. Disciplinary action with be taken for any mis-use of viewing cards.
What if there's a problem
Phone the appropriate helpline - satellite helpline on 00 44 (0) 1494 878100 or mil (9) 529 82100 (during UK office hours). Cable viewers should call the cable helpline on + 49 (0)209 999 1699 which is run by our cable contractor HCM. Alternatively, you can report a fault here.
