Hal Stewart
With Hal Stewart it's best to start at the very beginning he was born and raised in windy Scotland near the Highlands but close enough to the lowlands so that he didn’t suffer vertigo.
If you’ve ever listened to Hal on the wireless you can probably tell from his accent he didn’t stay in the Bonnie land... of the Loch with their delicious haggis, imaginary monster, fourth road bridge (dunno why they stopped at just four?) and delicious haggis. He was sent to an English boarding school, first in Hampshire and then in Yorkshire at the terrifying age of 6.
Since then Hal has put all of that behind him, which incidentally is not a good idea at boarding school, and carved out a career - where he gets paid to talk in a darkened room for several hours a day.
Away from broadcasting Hal has previously tried his hand at stand-up comedy, made two short films, qualified as a journalist, passed his bronze silver and gold London Academy of Music and Dance (that’s the legacy of the boarding school there) and started learning Spanish. Hal says "My aim is to be a master linguist like Sven Goran Eriksson and be able to speak several languages all in the same accent."
Catch him on BFBS, "Get in touch, I'll always respond...unless you sound odd."
