The final events have been held at the Inter Services Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in the French Alps.

While it was a good day for the Army - it was also an impressive return for one competitor after a nasty injury.

After dominating the alpine skiing this week the Army have taken the Men’s and Women’s team titles after good results in the Giant Slalom. One skier scoring highly was Captain Ian Thomas of 3 CS Battalion REME.

In the women’s race, Flt Lt Caitlin Wroe repeated her success from the Slalom yesterday, winning gold again today, making her individual champion.

Today also saw the second run of the men’s Snowboard Slopestyle after it was postponed yesterday. AET Ross Taylor won gold for the Navy with a fantastic score of 86 point zero but the story of the day has to be the Army’s Corporal Sam Bibby.

Yesterday he was airlifted off the mountain after a nasty crash but today he was back on the slopes and came in 7th despite his injuries.

The winners for the Snowboarding and Telemarking titles will be announced at the prize giving ceremony later tonight (Friday).
