Prince William is spending his first Christmas as a qualified helicopter pilot on duty.

He will work a 24 hour shift at the RAF search and rescue base in Anglesey before heading to the Queen’s Sandringham Estate to join his family on Boxing Day.

The Prince has worked as part of a four-man rescue team since qualifying in September as Flight Lieutenant Wales.

Next year is to be particularly busy for the Prince, as he prepares for his wedding to Kate Middleton in April.
