Injured former serviceman Phil Packer has started a 2012-mile march across Britain, the BRIT 2012 Challenge, to raise money for young people facing adversity.
Phil, 39, who suffered severe spinal injuries in a rocket attack in Iraq in 2008, is taking on the trek to raise money towards building a £15million centre for youngsters in need.
Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards, has given his support to the challenge, during which Phil will meet young people in every county of the United Kingdom.
Armed Forces individuals and teams are being encouraged to take part in the challenge, along with schools, colleges, universities and youth groups.
