Smiles all round at the Forces Children's trust event

The Forces Children’s Trust has been awarded nearly a million pounds by the News International media group.

The armed forces charity supports children who have lost a parent serving in the armed forces.

Flying lessons in light aircraft was the most recent trip that they organised for bereaved children.

The charity organised by Denny Wise won a Sun Military Award a year ago and since then has taken hundreds of children on holiday, to the theatre or to experience days.

Confirmation of the grant today means the charity can take children on holiday to a Disney theme park in the near future.

Longer term they can start to plan even more and bigger events for the growing number of children who have lost parents serving in the armed forces.
