Professor praises courage of wounded

There's been high level praise for the bravery of injured service personnel from the surgeon behind their ground-breaking treatment, Professor Sir Keith Porter.

He is probably the most important person any injured serviceman or woman in Afghanistan will meet on the road to recovery and is the UK’s only Professor of Clinical Traumatology.

He received a knighthood last year for his contribution to helping military casualties at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Forces News has been speaking to him about the massive advances in medical science being pioneered at the hospital on the front line of recovery in the UK.
