Defence firms have been showcasing some of their very latest hi tech equipment at an event in central London.

The event was also a chance for the government to reassure industry the defence cuts won’t leave them in the lurch.

Innovative ideas and technologies on show included a body amour cover with electronic circuits woven into the fabric, and a portable oxygen generator.

The Government’s Equipment minister Peter Luff met the exhibitors, before pledging to help smaller businesses cope with the defence cuts.
