Service families adoption hurdles

Calls to relax the rules around the adoption of children have been backed by the military charity, SSAFA Forces Help.

Their adoption service supports armed forces families who find it particularly difficult to adopt.

They feel that many local authorities in Britain do not consider military couples to make good parents.

It's believed the frequent moves, deployments and rigid discipline of the armed forces rules them out.

The SSAFA Forces Help Adoption service is trying to tackle that misconception, and their recent annual conference highlighted why they think exactly the opposite is true.
