The HomeFront Forces website was set up by two mums with the aim of putting deployed parents in regular internet contact with their children and partners. That was a year ago, and since then they have gone on to win the support of several MPs including the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

As they enter their second year, HomeFront Forces is planning to open a secure families' page where children and partners can contact serving mums and dads privately. Seven-year-old Madison Fetigan, whose dad was in Afghanistan over Christmas, has been chosen as the new face of the fledgling site.
