The Proclaimers to become forces charity patrons

12 September 2011 | Scotland  Folk rock duo to support 'The Forgotten Heroes'

Folk rock duo ‘The Proclaimers’ are to join 'The Forgotten Heroes’ charity as celebrity patrons. Twins Craig and Charlie Reid, are best known for their hits ‘Letter from America’ and ‘I’m Going to be (500 Miles)’.

Forgotten Heroes Chairman Adam Douglas said “It’s a dream come true. We were discussing as a board who to ask and, as I’m a huge fan of Craig and Charlie’s I thought I’d send them a letter. In these instances, you don’t necessarily even expect a reply, so to have them agree is wonderful.”

Craig and Charlie replied: “"We are honoured to lend our support to this unique charity. The carers for our wounded service people are worthy of everyone's support. The nation owes them all the practical help and support that they need.”

The Forgotten Heroes is a registered charity dedicated to providing quality information and assistance to wounded or injured servicemen and women, as well as their families and carers.
