The SPVA is a tri-Service agency providing personnel administration and payment of pay, allowances and pensions to the serving and veterans communities.

The SPVA has responsibility for the delivery of the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system and through it the agency has direct interaction with some 285,000 Regular and Reserve personnel and 365,000 Armed Forces pensioners.

For the first time, the MOD is able to deliver through-life service support functions direct to around 900,000 personnel. SPVA is currently situated over four sites from Glasgow in the north to Gosport on the south coast.
