Producer and Presenter (Radio) | UK  Suzanne Chislett

SUZANNE'S PROFILE

Suzanne started her radio career at Swansea Sound in south Wales. Despite the complete (and accidental) lack of an accent on-air, she is very proud of her Welsh roots.

She's worked for ITN Radio, a small international news agency called FSN and several foreign broadcasters. After becoming more involved in television news, she jacked in the full-time job to go freelance and return to her first-love... radio. She started working at BFBS in the summer of 2008 and can also be found on BBC 5Live and hiding behind the scenes at Sky News.

Suzanne Writes:

"I am a self-confessed news junkie and I love the fact that in radio, when something big happens, you just have to open a microphone to tell people about it. That said, I've spent my share of years working in television news and have to say that there's plenty to enjoy. I've found myself filming in temperatures of minus 28C in Switzerland and plus 21C in the Arctic (draw your own conclusions about global warming.)

Previous career moves also led to my first involvement with the military... I've been on war games with the Royal Navy and armed forces of France and Germany in the Bay of Biscay, talked a South African submarine commander into raising his periscope for no other reason than I needed the sound on tape, and I've been ferried around the Arctic courtesy of a Norwegian Navy fast-boat. The latter also involved Robert Plant handing me a life jacket and Brian May's hair blowing in the breeze, while one of the Corrs looked on unimpressed as the navy guys did some fancy manoeuvres to show off their skills...but that, is another story (and incidentally no indication of my musical taste).

The glamour, or course, led me to BFBS and it is a delight to be here."
