MATT'S PROFILE

Before joining the BFBS team, award-winning presenter Matt Teale was the main anchor of ITV's regional news programme, 'London Tonight' alongside Katie Derham. While at ITN, Matt also presented a variety of programmes for the Setanta Sports network, including everything from European football to mixed martial arts. He also hosted the channel's coverage of the controversial multi-million dollar Indian Premier League, enabling him to combine work with his passion for cricket.

An accomplished news reporter and documentary maker, Matt's covered everything from the London marathon to political visits to Washington, but cites the infamous 'Gumball Rally' as one of his more challenging assignments. Keeping up with millionaire super car owners driving coast to coast across America while in a rented Ford Taurus, was no easy task!

Other projects have seen Matt step into the ring with World heavyweight boxing champion, David Haye, as well as learn to wakeboard and ride a speedway bike (although 'learn' is perhaps stretching it a bit.)

Matt has recently finished work on a documentary series about the vehicles and weaponry used by Allied forces in Afghanistan, due to be transmitted in the Autumn of 2010 on Discovery. Matt can currently be seen presenting national weekend news bulletins on ITV in the UK as well as right here on BFBS News every Friday.
