ROB'S PROFILE

Dr Rob Hicks is one of the UK’s most well-known media doctors and combines committed medical practice with television and radio broadcasts and regular media commentary.

A practising GP, Rob also works in a hospital sexual health clinic. In addition to his general medical expertise, Rob’s special interests encompass family health, sexual health, complementary therapy, nutrition and lifestyle management. Taking a holistic approach to health he firmly believes that prevention is better than cure and that keeping healthy should be fun, not hard work.

Rob appears regularly on British Forces News and is a popular contributor to other TV and radio programmes. He is the medical script adviser to the award-winning BBC1 television drama series “Doctors” and the medical consultant for the BBC2 series ‘Grow your own drugs’.

A prolific health writer and medical journalist, he writes for a range of publications including Love It, Healthy, and Prima Baby magazines, BBC Health, AOL, Gurgle.com, and The People websites, and has published three books: ‘Control your blood pressure’, ‘Beat your allergies’, and ‘Old-Fashioned Remedies – From Arsenic to Gin’.

Rob is passionate about music and is a singer/songwriter and keyboard player in a pop/rock band currently recording their first album. He also loves driving and writing about cars.
