Members of The Royal Irish Regiment have been awarded honours for their most recent tour in Afghanistan.

The Royal Irish returned from Afghanistan in April to a heroes welcome after a tough six month tour in the Nad e-ali region of Helmand Province.

Major Jamie Humphries commanded D Company during the tour and has been awarded an MBE and is one of fifteen personnel recognised.

There is a DSO (Distinguished Service Order) for the Commanding Officer Lt Colonel Colin Weir.
