Two hundred members of The Irish Guards arrived in Northern Ireland early this morning for a weekend of public engagements in the province.

The Guardsmen were led off the ferry by their regimental mascot, Irish Wolfhound Clonmel, to the skirl of the pipes.

After a hearty breakfast the Micks headed off to prepare for parades in Belfast, Newtownards and Castlereagh.
