Three Iraqi soldiers have been killed in a bomb blast north of Baghdad. A police spokesman said a parked car bomb was detonated near a military patrol in Baqouba.

The area is a former stronghold of al Qaida which has increased its attacks on Iraqi security forces since the last US troops left in December.
