The Chief of the Air Staff has been defending the role of the RAF in conflicts such as Afghanistan.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton was speaking in Gibraltar over the weekend, where he joined 76 RAF personnel to commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Sir Stephen Dalton told BFBS that the RAF is every bit as significant today as it was during the Second World War.
