Intensive training has been underway to ensure 20 Brigade in Germany have a strong group of Battle Casualty Replacements and Individual Replacements to call upon while in theatre.

The soldiers face a difficult job as they have to be ready to deploy on Op Herrick 15 at any time.

Forces News cameras joined them on the Sennelager ranges. Unlike the Theatre Reserve Battalion which deploys companies of soldiers, Battle Casualty Replacements and Individual Replacements are deployed one by one.

Training varies from shooting practice and language skills to first aid courses and the role these troops play is vital to a successful tour.
