Britain has acted to safeguard trade between the Falklands and South America as diplomatic tensions continue with Argentina.

Foreign Secretary William Hague says the UK has held talks with Uruguay, Chile and Brazil over an illegal port ban on Falklands flagged ships.

All three have rejected any economic blockade of the islands.
