A charity held a Christmas party today for the children of serving soldiers - in some cases to make up for their father's absence this festive season.

Around 200 children met up at the Victory Services Club in London for the fun and games.

The party aimed to go some way to making up for some of the children not being able to celebrate Christmas with their father this year.

It was organised by soldiers' wives Louise Fetigan and Linda Trickett.

They began the charity My Daddy Is A Soldier Adventures in June after Ms Fetigan discovered a letter by her daughter Madison expressing how her friends at school did not understand why she was so sad when her father was away.
