British personnel based in Cyprus have experienced one of the wettest winters on record.

In January, there were only seven dry days and ground frosts were recorded on ten days.

It is the highest amount of precipitation Cyprus has experienced in the past eleven years.

For staff at RAF Akrotiri, the weather brought challenges with the final decision on whether to fly left to the crew.

With over a metre of snow above five thousand metres the snow clearers have been out in force for most of the year meaning contractors have been working around the clock.
