The sovereign base areas in Cyprus has been holding a road safety week to remind British troops that they are not invulnerable in the run up to Christmas.

Its aim is to show that careless driving could cost them money, their career or at worst their life, with Brtish troops twice as likely to die on the road than civvies.

Just five years ago Cyprus was the third worst country in the EU for fatalities on the road.

Troops around BFC have been shown a hard-hitting presentation on road safety including drug and alcohol awareness.
