SSAFA Forces Help Cyprus has been hosting a 10k run at Happy Valley in Episkopi, including a children’s and a walker’s race.

Despite military numbers decreasing on the island, there was a good turnout and fierce competition.

David Blanfot finished first in an astounding time of 36 minutes and 15 seconds.

Eddie Roberts and Rupert Capleton came in second and third and Julia Tulley was the first woman to cross the line in 45 minutes and 23 seconds.

The same event raised more than €3500 in 2010 and SSAFA hopes to improve on that this year.
