The Red Arrows have again been honoured at RAF Akrotiri as a new lounge for junior ranks was opened in their name.

In one of his last acts before leaving the post as Station Commander, Group Captain Barrie Thomson officially opened the Reds Lounge.

It commemorates the special relationship between the airbase and the Reds and contains a plaque honouring Flight Lieutenants Jon Egging and Sean Cunningham, who died in accidents last year.

The Lounge is furnished with designer Italian furniture, a state of the art sound system and projector, as well as Xbox and Wii stations.
