Troops in Cyprus have been given the chance to vent their concerns about their future in the Armed Forces to the Service Complaints Commissioner.

Dr Susan Atkins works independently of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence, providing an alternative point of contact for those who feel unable to complain to their chain of command.

Forces News cameras joined her on a guided tour of Episkopi Garrison, where she met and talked to various corners of the BFC community.

She was invited to the island by the Commander of British Forces Cyprus Air Vice Marshal Graham Stacey and had free reign to speak to all ranks of BFC about their problems.

Pay and allowances are common issues during this difficult time as the global military family continue to absorb the impact of the SDSR

There is also anxiety about the future, with a government review of the UK's military bases in Cyprus underway, headed by Lord Ashcroft.
