Soldiers from the UK regularly patrol and maintain the status quo in the Buffer Zone of Nicosia.

Overlooked by Greek national guards and Turkish Forces it used to be the heart of the city, but 20th July, 1974 changed that.

Now, under British control the responsibility changes every 6 months.

Last week saw 23 Regiment take over from 3 Royal Anglian.
