2010 has been a busy year for the forces and major changes occurred both in Afghanistan and at home.

A new Prime Minister and Defence Secretary were welcomed in to Number 10 Downing Street, bringing with them changes for the military.

The Nimrod aircraft was retired, there was a dispute over oil drilling off the coast of the Falkland Islands and improved care for injured troops as Prince William opened a new rehabilitation centre at Headley Court, funded by Help for Heroes.

It was also the year of many anniversaries, as the last surviving Little Ships recreated their historic journey across the English Channel to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dunkirk evacuations.

And there was a treat in store for British troops as David Beckham made a surprise visit to Camp Bastion.
