MOD confirms Afghan child abuse probe

A Military Police investigation is underway after allegations of child abuse against two British soldiers in Afghanistan.

The Sun newspaper reports that the accusations involve Afghan children around the age of 10.

In a statement the Ministry of Defence says it is aware of the allegation and that the Special Investigation Branch of the Royal Military Police is investigating.

It says: "We take any such allegation extremely seriously. It would be inappropriate to comment further while an investigation is on-going."
