An inquest has heard today how a massive IED blast threw an armoured vehicle two feet in the air, killing the driver.

Private James Prosser, 21, from South Wales, was killed in the Musa Qala district of Northern Helmand province in September last year. Despite sitting at the wheel of a heavily armoured Warrior vehicle, Private Prosser was killed in the blast.

At the time he was serving with 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh, as part of an operation targeting suspected Taliban bomb factories.

In a statement released after his death, his mother said: "James is a wonderful son and brother, I am so proud of the man he grew to be. He is dearly loved and cherished by his family and his many friends."
