Gunman fires on international troops

An Albanian soldier has been killed, after a person wearing an Afghan police uniform opened fire on international troops in Kandahar province.

The attack happened in a village close to the border with Pakistan, and injured two more international troops.

Albania’s defence ministry says the remaining soldiers arrested 11 people who they say were Afghan policemen.

Albania has around 260 troops in Afghanistan. This is the first time one of them has been killed.
